Sea Wolves Make It Six Of Seven With Win Over Wildcatters

January 15, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, MS - Ryan Munce made 34 saves to earn his 10th win of the season as the Mississippi Sea Wolves (15-20-3) knocked off the Texas Wildcatters by the score of 2-1 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

The Sea Wolves capitalized late in the first period on a mistake by Texas goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak. Pat Oliveto's lead pass intended for Mark Rooneem was off target, drawing Pietrasiak out to the top of the circles where he played the puck to the right side. With Pietrasiak trapped out of the net, the puck landed on the stick of Jason Tejchma, who fired into the empty net at 16:16.

Travis Lisabeth banged home the rebound of a shot from Kyle McAllister at the 1:01 mark of the second period for a power play goal that stood as the game-winner.

Texas got on the board when Matt Kassian banged home a rebound at 6:12 of the third period, but the Wildcatters were unable to find the back of the net again, as Ryan Munce made 11 saves through the third period for a game total of 34 to earn the win.

Mississippi was 1-for-5 on the power play.
