Lynx's Slattengren Named In Glas Co Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Augusta All-Star center Aaron Slattengren is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 7-13. He is the first two-time winner of the award this season having won for the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2.

The 26 year old had six goals, including two on the power play and a game winner, four assists and a plus-minus rating of +5 as the Lynx went 3-1-0 and moved into fourth place in the South Division.

Slattengren started the week with back-to-back four point nights, registering a pair of goals, including one on the power play, and two assists in a 6-4 win against Charlotte on Jan. 8 and three goals and an assist in a 7-1 win against division rival Florida on Jan. 10. He ended the week scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist in a 4-1 win against Mississippi on Jan. 12.

The Duluth, Minnesota native is tied for the ECHL lead with 27 goals while his 43 points tie him for fifth and his eight power-play goals tie him for ninth.

The 6-foot and 195-pound Slattengren had 44 points (21g-23a) and 22 penalty minutes in 56 regular season games and four penalty minutes in two Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Lynx as a rookie in 2006-07 while also playing one game for Phoenix.

He began his professional career in 2005-06 after completing his career at Colorado College, and had two penalty minutes in one regular season game and seven penalty minutes in four Kelly Cup Playoff games for Idaho while also playing in the American Hockey League where he had three assists and four penalty minutes in five games for Portland and appeared in one game for Iowa.

Slattengren played four seasons at Colorado College and had 88 points (43g-45a) and 186 penalty minutes in 144 games from 2002-06.

On behalf of Aaron Slattengren a case of pucks will be donated to Augusta area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 18,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
