San Antonio Rampage News Release
San Antonio â The San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League today announced their schedule for the 2003-04 season.
The Rampage open their second season in the AHL on October 10 in Utah against the Grizzlies. San Antonio makes their first regular season appearance in the SBC Center the following night, October 11, when they battle the Grizzlies in a rematch at 7:00 p.m. The Rampage close out the regular season on Sunday, April 11 at home against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
This season, the Rampage will play a total of 30 home games on the weekends, with 22 contests on either Friday or Saturday evening, in addition to eight Sunday contests. San Antonio also plays three home Tuesday night games, one home Wednesday night affair and six home Thursday night contests. All weekend and weeknight games will begin at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday start times will be either 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.
The Rampage face-off against their intrastate rivals and Calder Cup Champion Houston Aeros, a season-high 12 times, with the Aeros first visiting the Alamo City on November 23. Ten of the 12 contests between the two clubs this year will be played in a home and home set that takes place on the weekends throughout the 2003-04 campaign.
Throughout the course of the season, San Antonio battles their West division rivals Grand Rapids, Chicago, Milwaukee and Utah 10 times (five home/five away), while they meet the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks eight times (four home/four away). Additionally, San Antonio welcomes two new teams to the SBC Center this year when they meet the Worcester IceCats (Jan. 8) and Syracuse Crunch (Jan. 25).
San Antonio will play just once at home during February when they host Houston on Friday night, February 27. The Rampage embark on a 12-game road trip from February 4-25, while the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Rodeo visits the SBC Center. During the trip San Antonio travels to nine different cities, spanning from Manitoba to Hartford. San Antonio has two season-high six game homestands, October 23-November 9 and November 20-December 6.
All home and road games will be broadcast on the Rampage's flagship station "The Ticket" 760 AM (subject to conflicts) with the "Voice of the Rampage" Andrew Monaco calling all the action.
