
St. Louis Re-signs Goalie and Forward

St. Louis, MO, July 31, 2003 â The St. Louis Blues, the parent club of the Worcester IceCats (AHL), have re-signed forward Marc Brown and goaltender Cody Rudkowsky, Blues Senior Vice President and General Manager Larry Pleau announced today. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Brown, 24, completed his fourth season with Worcester finishing with 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists), skating in 58 games. The 6-1, 196-pound forward was tied for fifth on the IceCats with five power play goals and ranked third on the team with 172 shots on goal. The White Rock, British Columbia native is currently ranked seventh on the IceCats All-time scoring list with 126 points (65 goals, 61 assists) in 238 games. He was named the IceCats Most Improved Player during the 2001-02 season, registering a career high 55 points (30g, 25a). Brown set a Worcester franchise record by notching 14 power play goals and ranked third on the team with 30 goals during the 2001-02 campaign. He was originally signed as a free agent with the Blues on September 24, 1999.
Rudkowsky, 25, made his NHL debut and recorded his first career NHL win in a relief effort on Oct. 24 at Edmonton, stopping all 10 shots he faced. The 6-1, 201-pound netminder spent the majority of the season on loan to Trenton of the ECHL, appearing in an ECHL career high 31 games, posting a 17-9-5 record along with a 2.73 goals against average. The Willingdon, Alberta native was originally signed as a free agent with St. Louis on March 25, 1999.
