B-Sens Schedule Released
July 31, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY – The East Division champion Binghamton Senators, NHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, released their 2003-04 regular season schedule today in conjunction with the American Hockey League.
The second season of Senators hockey, the 68th for the American Hockey League, begins on the road Friday, October 10th, as the Sens meet one of their newest East Division opponents, the Philadelphia Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers), for the first time ever at The Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia. Binghamton opens its home schedule the following night, October 11th, as the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) invade the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff. The Americans will also be in Binghamton when both clubs close out the regular season in a 7:05 p.m. faceoff on Saturday, April 10th.
The B-Sens schedule features12 Friday and 17 Saturday dates. The only scheduled Sunday “home” game will be February 15th, the club’s annual trip to the Corel Centre in Ottawa as Binghamton battles the expansion Toronto Roadrunners (Edmonton Oilers) in a 2:00 p.m. draw.
Three traditional holiday dates on the Binghamton schedule were secured once again: November 27th (Thanksgiving), December 26th, and December 31st (New YearÂ’s Eve). In addition, the Senators secured Monday, November 10th, for a pre-Veterans Day encounter with the Syracuse Crunch (Columbus Blue Jackets) with most area school districts having the following day off from classes.
“The schedule the league has presented us with is one of the best I’ve seen during my association with AHL hockey in the Southern Tier,” said Senators’ Executive Vice President Tom Mitchell. “The number of prime weekend dates and our traditional holiday requests that were filled by the league is outstanding. This schedule will make for many exciting nights in downtown Binghamton in the coming season.”
Single game tickets for the October 11th home opener against Rochester will go on sale Friday, September 19th, at the Senators’ Executive Office – 3rd Floor of the Arena, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, and at the Arena box office. Single game tickets for the entire regular season home schedule will go on sale Monday, September 29th.
Season tickets for the 2003-04 campaign, which include the Ottawa/Buffalo preseason game, are now on sale at the Sens’ Executive Office – 3rd Floor of the Arena, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, the Arena box office, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. 2003-04 season tickets are available only at the Senators’ Executive Office – 3rd Floor of the Arena, open during the summer months from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
