Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have set a new team record for website hits in a month with 2,618, 298 in the month of November.
Web designer Craig Bommer launched the new Nailers website (www.WheelingNailers.com) in late October to coincide with the team's opening game.
it was important to see an increase from the 1.2 million hits per month that the old site received, he said.
"A lot of work went into it so I'm glad to see people are visiting the site," Bommer said. "Now, with myself, Greg Slater and Brendan Burke, we try to keep the material as fresh and as relevant as possible."
One new aspect of the site is the "Where Are They Now" feature stories written by Slater. Each week, a former player or coach will be profiled on the website.
The Nailers take on the Cyclones in Cincinnati tonight before returning home to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at WesBanco Arena. The first 2500 fans on Saturday will receive a Nailers ball cap courtesy of United Bank. Saturday is also the Nailers annual Teddy Bear Toss for Toys for Tots so bring a stuffed animal and throw it on the ice after the Nailers score their first goal.
Sunday is "Family Fun Day," so bring skates and gloves and skate with the team after the game.
Tickets are available now by calling 304-234-GOAL, by visiting the Nailers team store at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling or by logging on to www.WheelingNailers.com.
