Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers and Encore Bistro and Bar raised over $3,200 for the Ross Minor Medical Fund on Monday, November 27.
Checkers' players and members of the CheckMates served as guest bartenders for the event. And Encore Bistro and Bar donated all of the tips received at the bar from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, as well as one dollar from each alcoholic beverage sold in the restaurant, to the Ross Minor Medical Fund.
This past June, Ross, 8, and his brother Ryan, 10, were both shot by their father who then turned the gun on himself. Ryan died from the gun shot while Ross survived, but lost 100% of his vision.
