Falcons Fall to Condors

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors scored four goals in the second period on their way to a 4-2 win over the Fresno Falcons on Friday night at Rabobank Arena.

Fresno dictated play through the first 20 minutes of play, outshooting Bakersfield 18-5, but found itself in a scoreless tie after one period.

Bakersfield opened up a 4-0 lead through two periods, tallying four times in the second period, including three times on the power play. Brett Lutes netted three of the goals for the Condors, while Andrew Ianiero also found the back of the net for the Condors during their four-goal uprising.

Fresno got on the scoreboard at the 12:14 mark of the final period, scoring a power-play goal. Tyler Kindle fed a cross-crease pass to Colin Shields on the near post, and Shields redirected it past Jamie Hodson for his seventh goal of the season.

The Falcons pulled within two at 18:09 with its second power-play goal of the night. Kindle was stationed in front of the net and was able to redirect a Vince Macri shot past Hodson for his fourth of the season.

The Falcons are back at home on Saturday, hosting the Phoenix RoadRunners at 7:30 p.m. on Teddy Bear Toss Night and Team Photo Night. All fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and to throw it on the ice following the Falcons first goal. All animals collected will be donated to Toys for Tots. In addition, the first 5,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons team photo, courtesy of Dumont Printing.
