Falcons Acquire Pair from Cincinnati

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has acquired forward Dave Borrelli and defenseman Riley Day from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for future considerations. Both players will be in the line-up for tonight's game in Bakersfield.

Borrelli is in his first professional season out of Mercyhurst College. The native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario started this season with the Reading Royals before being traded to Cincinnati on November 8. He has one goal and one assist in 12 games with the Royals and Cyclones this season. During his four years at Mercyhurst, Borrelli tallied 129 points in 137 games. Last season, he led all NCAA Division I players in points per game (1.55), and finished second in the nation in goals per game (0.85).

Day also is in his first pro season after finishing his career in the Western Hockey League. Last season with his hometown Brandon Wheat Kings, he finished ninth in the WHL with 191 penalty minutes, while also enjoying his best statistical season scoring six goals and adding 19 assists.

Fresno is back in action tonight, traveling to Bakersfield for a 7:00 p.m. face off against the Condors. The game will air live on the Internet at www.fresnofalcons.com starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:50, and will air on 1550 Sporting News Radio on a tape-delayed basis following high school football.

The Falcons return home on Saturday, hosting Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Teddy Bear Toss Night and Team Photo Night. All fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and to toss it on the ice following the Falcons first goal of the game. All animals collected will be donated to Toys for Tots. In addition, the first 5,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons team photo courtesy of Dumont Printing.
