Florida ends 'Catters Winning Streak with 5-2 win

Estero, FL (December 1, 2006) The Texas Wildcatters (12-3-2-0) lost for the first time in regulation in their last 11 games as the Florida Everblades won by a score of 5-2 in front of 5,919 at Germain Arena. Florida took control of the game in the first period as Chris Lee and Brent McDonald netted goals for the Everblades to give them a 2-0 advantage after one period. Dustin Johner and Reggie Berg would score early in the second to put the Everblades up 4-0. Goaltender Matt Yeats was pulled and Miroslav Kopriva replaced him. Yeats was unbeaten in his last 10 starts (9-0-1).

Mike Bayrack would get the 'Catters on the board with a power play goal before the second period ended. Jonathan Paiement scored his first professional goal, but the 'Catters went down to Florida. Riley Emmerson and Bill Kinkel of Florida dropped the gloves just three seconds into the hockey game. The Everblades evened the season series at 2 games a piece. The 'Catters conclude their seven game road trip tomorrow night against Florida. Texas is currently 5-1-0-0 on their trip.
