Augusta, GA - Steve McJannett recorded a goal in each period to help pace the Columbia Inferno past the Augusta Lynx 5-2 on Friday night at the James Brown Arena.

McJannett opened the scoring just 2:40 into the first period before J.B. Bittner's power play goal at 7:55 from Jamie Johnson and Brett Skinner to tie the game at 1-1. Owen Fussey reclaimed the lead for Columbia at 10:51, but again the Lynx tied the game, this time on Louis Goulet's shorthanded marker at 16:28 for a 2-2 score through 20 minutes of play.

Columbia would hold Augusta off the board for the remaining 40 minutes as McJannett marked twice more, the final coming in to the empty net with just 28 seconds remaining in regulation.

Todd Ford stopped 27 shots for the win in net, while Dave McKee made 28 saves in the loss for Augusta. Both teams finished the game 1-for-7 on the power play.

Augusta will take to the road to battle the Checkers in Charlotte tomorrow night at 7:30 pm. Radio coverage begins with the Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
