San Antonio Missions News Release

NEW ORLEANS - Nate Orf's bases loaded three-run double broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning and Mauricio Dubon singled home a pair of runs to lead the Missions to a 5-2 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes Tuesday afternoon and a split in the four game set.

Donnie Hart (2-1) earned the win by retiring all left-handed batters he faced. Jake Petricka worked a perfect ninth with a pair of strikeouts to notch his first save of the year.

San Antonio and New Orleans wrapped up a stretch in which they played each other for eight consecutive days. The Missions captured five of those contests.

Four Missions hitters collected two hits apiece.

Aaron Wilkerson started on the mound but only lasted 4 1/3 innings, as the right-hander battled his command. He finished after his 82nd pitch of the afternoon, only 47 of which were strikes.

San Antonio turned to the bullpen and received 4 2/3 innings of two-hit ball from a quintuple of relievers, who combined to fan nine without issuing a walk.

The Missions will enjoy a day off on Wednesday before opening a brief five-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday night. Neither starting pitchers have been announced for the series opener.
