May 14, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

Reno, NV. - Fans at Greater Nevada Field Monday night saw plenty of offense in the Aces four-plus hour game against the Salt Lake Bees. Both teams combined for 24 runs on 28 hits. Salt Lake walked away with their 14th victory of the season, defeating Reno by a score of 15 to 9. Ildemaro Vargas led the way for Reno offensively with a second consecutive three-hit performance. Justin Vernia, making his Triple-A debut, was tagged for eight runs over three innings of work and earned the loss.

Salt Lake got to Vernia early and often. Vernia allowed four runs in the first, three in the second and one in the third before turning things over to the bullpen. Reno picked up three runs in the bottom of the second off Bees' starter Nick Tropeano. Each side exchanged blows in the middle innings, leaving Reno with a three-run deficit entering the sixth inning. Salt Lake exploded for five runs in the top half of the sixth and never looked back. The loss sends Reno to a record of 14-24 with one game remaining against Salt Lake before the much-needed off day.
