Quantrill's Return Sparks Chihuahuas

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Sacramento River Cats 5-3 Monday night at Raley Field and have taken two of the first three games of their road trip. Cal Quantrill allowed three runs in five innings in his first start since returning from a stint with the San Diego Padres.

Luis Urias hit a two-run home run in the third inning, his fourth home run in his last four games. Chihuahuas reliever Fernando Rodriguez threw three perfect innings after Quantrill left the game. El Paso's bullpen retired 14 of the River Cats' final 15 batters.

El Paso hitting coach Morgan Burkhart was ejected by home plate umpire Paul Clemons in the third inning, the Chihuahuas' third ejection of the season. The Chihuahuas are now 14-4 in road games this season.
