Lee named to American Conference All-Star Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Checkers forward Mark Lee has been selected to play in the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 17 at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho.

Lee, who is under AHL contract to the Hartford Wolf Pack, is second in the ECHL with 39 points and fourth with 27 assists. He has skated in all 26 of the Checkers games this season and leads the team in points, assists and shorthanded goals (two SHG, tied with Blake Bellefeuille).

Lee, 22, is in his first season with the Checkers and his second in the ECHL. Last season Lee split time between the Trenton Titans of the ECHL and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. This is the first time the 5-foot-11-inch, 184-pounder from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland has been selected as an ECHL All-Star.

The 2007 All-Star break begins on Tuesday, January 16 with the All-Star Skills Competition at 9:05 p.m. eastern time. The 2007 Rbk Hockey All-Star Game will take place on Wednesday, January 17 at 9:00 p.m. eastern time. The 15th Annual ECHL All-Star Game and the 10th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will both be held at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho, home of the Idaho Steelheads.
