Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL and Y102 today announced that they will join forces to host a New Year's Day Celebration when the Royals take on the Dayton Bombers on Monday, January 1, 2007, at 4:35 pm at the Sovereign Center in Reading. The two teams will accentuate the festive mood by wearing special "tuxedo-styled" jerseys-Reading in white and Dayton in blue-which will be auctioned off for charity. The Royals' tuxedo jersey auction will take place at the Sovereign Center immediately following the game, while the Bombers will return to Dayton with their 'tuxedos' to be auctioned at a later date.

During the week of December 26-the week before the New Year's Day Game-fans are encouraged to tune into Y102 between the hours of 6 and 10 am, when Y102 will conduct a special "VIP Fan" Promotion during which one lucky listener will be chosen to receive four rink side seats to the New Year's Day game, a tour of the Sovereign Center, and a tuxedo jersey autographed by the entire Royals' team. Listen to Y102 for more information on how to participate in the "VIP Fan" Promotion. On New Year's Day, SMG Food & Beverage will offer the local traditional favorite of pork roast with sauerkraut (and other special menu items) at the Sovereign Center, while the game day activities will be focused upon the "Ring In The New Year" theme. Consistent with this theme, the first 1500 fans in attendance that afternoon will receive a champagne glass courtesy of the Royals and Y102. More information on the Royals/Y102 New Year's Day Celebration is available at the Royals website, www.royalshockey.com.

The Royals' five game road trip continues on Thursday night in Charlotte, when the team makes their first trip in team history to Charlotte Bobcats Arena to take on the Charlotte Checkers (7:00 pm). On Friday, the Royals take on the Columbia Inferno at Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, South Carolina, for the first time ever. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off.
