Komet Defenseman Deangelis Named to CHL All-Star Team; Chaulk's Arrival in Fort Wayne Delayed

Fort Wayne, IN -- Komet defensman Frankie DeAngelis has been selected to the CHL All-Star Team that will face the defending Ray Miron President Cup champion Rapid City Rush on Jan. 12 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the CHL announced Wednesday.

DeAngelis was one of 12 CHL players given the honor by co-coaches Dwight Mullins of the Allen Americans and Scott Hillman of the Missouri Mavericks along with the CHL Hockey Operations Department..

DeAngelis, 25, currently leads the Komets with 12 assists and tops Fort Wayne defensemen with five goals and 17 points. The Woodbridge, Ontario native made his pro debut last year with the Komets leading Fort Wayne defensemen with 32 assists and IHL defesnemen with a plus-31. DeAngelis was named Fort Wayne's Most Improved Player for 2009-10 and was selected to the 2009-10 IHL All-Rookie Team.

A 19th member of the 2011 CHL All-Star Team will be determined by the fans through voting on the CHL's Facebook page.

Chaulk's arrival in Fort Wayne delayed -- The Komets announced earlier this week that veteran center Colin Chaulk will be returning to the Komets after a 26-game stint with Alleghe of the Italian elite league. Chaulk's return has been delayed due to extenuating circumstances. The veteran center is now expected to arrive in Fort Wayne in time to practice with the Komets during an optional practice session slated for Monday, Jan. 3 from 10:30am-11:30am at Canlan ice arena. The Komets will also be practicing at Canlan Tuesday thru Thursday next week at 10am each day. Chaulk is expected to be in the lineup when the Komets host Evansville Friday night, Jan. 7, at 8:00.
