Allen Americans News Release
ALLEN, Texas- The Central Hockey League announced the reserves for this year ¬â¢s All-Star team, and the Allen Americans have been rewarded for their great start to the season.
Forward Bruce Graham and Defenseman David Strathman have been selected to the Al-Star team, making Allen the only team in the CHL with more than one representative in the game.
Graham has led the way for Allen offensively in 2010-11, racking up 32 points (13+19=32) in 27 games. The Moncton, New Brunswick native will make his second appearance in the mid-season event, having skated last season as well.
Strathman, a rookie blueliner from Tempe, Arizona, has lit the lamp six times this season, to go along with 11 assists. The Northeastern graduate ¬â¢s 17 points are more than any other rookie defenseman in the CHL.
¬ÅThey are both very deserving of the honor, ¬Â Americans Head Coach and General Manager Dwight Mullins said. ¬ÅThese guys come to work every day and compete. They are big reasons why we are where we are as a team right now. ¬Â Mullins will co-coach the team with Missouri ¬â¢s Scott Hillman. The two men were handed the reigns to coach the team when their respective clubs had the best winning percentage at the Christmas break.
This season ¬â¢s All-Star format features the defending champion Rapid City Rush against a team of stars from the rest of the CHL.
The final player for the CHL All-Star Club will be voted on by the fans in a Facebook poll. Finalists for the poll will be released later today by the league. The competition runs through 5:00 p.m. Friday.
