
Bucks Lose Heartbreaker, 3-2

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Arizona Sundogs 3-2 Wednesday night at Tim's Toyota Center. The Bucks lost their third straight road game as they fall to 10-14-4 (24 points).
Levente Szuper stopped 34 of 36 shots and rookie Patrick Schafer scored the game-winning goal with just 1:29 left in regulation in his first professional game to lift the Sundogs to the win. Arizona improves to 12-13-4 (28 points) on the season.
The Bucks offense struck just 32 seconds into the game to give Laredo an early 1-0 lead. Neil Trimm scored on a rebound from the left side of the crease to pick up his 11th goal of the season.
Laredo had a chance for more but failed to score on a full two-minute five-on-three power-play midway through the first period.
The Bucks put up a season-high 20 shots in a period as they outshot Arizona 20-5 in the first period.
The Sundogs would strike for two power-play goals midway through the second period to take a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.
Cam Keith would jam in a rebound on the power-play 11:14 into the second to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was Keith's sixth of the season.
Arizona would take a 2-1 lead a little over three minutes later when Maxime Renaud was left open on the right side of the crease and stuffed in his second goal of the season.
The Sundogs outshot the Bucks 13-6 in the second period.
Daniel Koger tied the game at 2-2 with 10:03 left in the third when he scored on a rebound right in front of the net. The strike was Koger's team-leading 16th of the season.
The Bucks nearly tied the game with less than 15 seconds left in the game but Szuper made two crucial saves for the Sundogs.
Laredo outshot the Sundogs 10-9 in the third period and outshot them in the game 36-27.
Torrie Jung stopped 24 of 27 shots in net for the Bucks.
The Bucks and Sundogs will meet again Friday and Saturday night in Arizona.
