Adirondack Thunder News Release

WHO: Adirondack Thunder (10-3-1-2) vs. Florida Everblades (11-2-1-2)

WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME

WHEN: Saturday, November 26, 2016 @ 7:00 PM

WHERE: Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder take on the Florida Everblades for the second straight game, the beginning of a seven-game homestand for Adirondack. The two teams met on Tuesday evening at the Civic Center with the Thunder coming out victorious with a 3-1 victory on home ice behind 28 saves from Mason McDonald and two goals from Ty Loney.

TOP OF THE CHARTS: Tonight's matchup squares off the top two teams in the Eastern Conference with both Adirondack and Florida leading their respective divisions. The Thunder lead the North Division with 23 points, tied with Manchester with a game in hand, while Florida leads the South Division with a conference-high 25 points. Adirondack's victory on Tuesday delivered the first regulation loss of the season to the Everblades.

MCDOUBLE: Adirondack Thunder netminder Mason McDonald will be between the pipes tonight for the Thunder, his third straight start and his second on home ice. McDonald turned aside 28 of 29 shots in Tuesday's win for his team high sixth victory of the season. Since Ken Appleby was recalled to Albany last Saturday, McDonald is 2-0-0 with a .952 save percentage and a 1.51 goals against average.

HOME ALONEY: Adirondack forward Ty Loney collected two goals in Tuesday's victory as he continues to lead the Thunder in scoring this season. The 6-4 winger now has 17 points (8-9-17) in 16 games on the season, four points clear of his nearest teammate. Loney's eight goals have him on the front page of the ECHL leaderboard, tied for 15th, while he is one of just 12 players league-wide to average over a point and a penalty minute per game.

THE MAC ATTACK: Adirondack Thunder Captain Peter MacArthur extended his point streak to four games with the primary assist on Loney's first goal on Tuesday evening. The 5-10 winger now has nine points (4-5-9) on the season, which ties him for fourth on the Thunder roster. A season ago, MacArthur finished third on the team in points (8-28-36) after he joined the Thunder in December 2015.

MAKE LOVE, NOT WARD: Adirondack first-year forward Brian Ward picked up a pair of assists in Tuesday's victory, the first multi-assist game of his ECHL career. The St. Lawrence graduate, who leads the Thunder and all ECHL rookies with nine goals on the season, has now amassed 13 points (9-4-13) in 16 games this season, good for second on the team in scoring.

SPECIAL AGAIN: The Thunder won the special teams battle on Tuesday as they converted early in the second period on the man advantage, just their second power-play goal on home ice this season. Adirondack was also a perfect 2-of-2 on the penalty kill as they raised their home penalty killing percentage to 92.9% at the Glens Falls Civic Center, the third highest mark in the ECHL.
