November 26, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Reading, PA- The Cincinnati Cyclones (7-8-2-0) fell to the Reading Royals, 4-2 on Saturday night. Forwards Peter LeBlanc and Andrew Yogan scored the goals for the Cyclones.
The Royals wasted little time jumping ahead in this one, receiving goals from forwards Olivier Labelle and Matt Wilkins to take a 2-0 lead, 8:35 into the first period.
Cincinnati cut that lead in half roughly five minutes later when forward Tommy Mele sent a pass up the right side to LeBlanc and he sniped home his first goal of the season to cut Cincinnati's deficit to 2-1 after the first.
In the second, Cincinnati started to pick up the offense, getting a number of Grade A scoring chances. With just over 90 seconds to play in the frame, Yogan took a feed from Kenny Ryan and skated into the offensive zone where he skated around Reading goaltender Mark Dekanich and fired the puck into the net to tie the game, 2-2, through 40 minutes.
The Royals regained the lead early in the third when forward Justin Crandall crashed the net and deflected the puck in, putting Reading up 3-2.
Cincinnati got a plethora of quality scoring chances throughout the remainder of the third period, outshooting the Royals 13-12 in the final 20 minutes.
The Cyclones had one final push with less than a minute to play while on the man advantage and the goalie pulled, however an empty-netter from Labelle sent Reading to a 4-2 win.
The Cyclones were outshot, 40-34 on the night, with goaltender Michael Houser stopping 36 in the loss. The Cyclones and Royals wrap up their two-game series on Sunday afternoon, with the face-off scheduled for 5:00pm ET.
