
Joe Devin Returns to South Carolina

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have announced that team captain Joe Devin has been returned from loan by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL). The forward is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday night when the Rays are home to take on Norfolk.
Devin appeared in three games during his time with the Rampage and had four penalty minutes. Now in his third year with South Carolina, the forward has scored three goals in eight games with the Stingrays this season.
During the 2015-16 season, Devin had 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 55 regular season games with South Carolina before putting up 16 points (10 goals, six assists) in 18 postseason games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Devin also spent time with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters last season, playing in 16 AHL games and scoring seven points (five goals, two assists).
Before turning pro, Devin played four years at Cornell University from 2007-11. The forward played in 116 games with the Big Red, scoring 64 points (37 goals, 27 assists) while helping to lead the squad to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010. He also served as captain of the team during the 2010-11 season.
The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum ice on Saturday when they battle the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m.
