Brampton Beast News Release

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - Orlando Solar Bears forward Tony Cameranesi broke a 2-2 tie late in the third period to spark a late Orlando rally as the home team defeated the Brampton Beast by a score of 5-2 at the Amway Center on Saturday night.

Brandon Marino and David Vallorani each lit the lamp for the Beast, who battled hard against the Solar Bears for the second straight night, only to have the Solar Bears steal one away in the latter half of the game.

Beast starting goaltender Bryan Pitton was sharp in the early going as the Solar Bears offense peppered him with 17 shots in the opening period alone. The Brampton native stopped every one of them to keep the game scoreless heading into the first intermission.

After a fast-paced, back-and-forth period that saw the teams combine for 32 shots on goal, it was the Beast who were the first to find the back of the net early in the second frame.

Beast forward David Pacan muscled his way into the offensive zone corner and used his long reach to find Brandon Marino who was parked in front of the goal. Marino got just enough on the puck to redirect it behind Solar Bears starter Ryan Massa, giving the Beast a 1-0 lead at 4:31.

The Solar Bears finally got through Pitton's armour later in the second period as Chris Crane redirected a shot through the Beast goaltender to tie the game at 7:34.

The remainder of the second period was very evenly-matched until the Solar Bears took their first lead of the game late in the second stanza. Joe Perry beat Pitton on the blocker side on an odd-man rush at 16:27 for the 2-1 Orlando edge.

The Solar Bears' lead was short lived as the sizzling Beast offense surged once again. David Vallorani danced around two defenders in the offensive zone and ripped a perfect wrist shot over the glove hand of Massa at 17:25, tying the game at 2-2 heading into the third.

The game remained tied until the 9:50 mark of the third period when Cameranesi knocked in a puck from close range to give the Solar Bears the 3-2 lead.

From that point on, the Solar Bears smelled blood and continued their relentless attack. Austin Block and Taylor Doherty both scored in the final five minutes of play to lead the Solar Bears to victory.

Notes: The Beast finished the game 0-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill. Vallorani extended his point streak to six games with a goal in tonight's contest. Brandon MacLean extended his point streak to five games with an assist on Vallorani's tally.

The Beast will seek their revenge on Monday, November 28 as they face the Solar Bears for the final time at the Amway Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm.
