Back-to-Back

The Mallards have won back-to-back games. A 4-2 victory Wednesday night over the Cyclones in Cincinnati preceded last night's victory.

Shootout

Last night's shootout win was the Mallards' first of the season. The Mallards dropped their only prior shootout decision 3-2 to Cincinnati on home ice on November 6. The Mallards outscored the Fuel 2-0 in the shootout last night. Alex Petain converted in the shootout along with Warning while C.J. Motte turned aside both Indy shootout opportunities.

Central

With a regulation win tonight, the Mallards, who enter this evening's game just one point behind the Komets in the Central Division standings, would pass Fort Wayne and take over third place. With last night's victory, the Mallards broke a tie with the Fuel- which did earn one point for the shootout loss- and took over sole possession of fourth place, one point ahead of Indy.

Busy

The Mallards tonight play their sixth game in nine nights. They have gone 2-3-0 over the first five games of that stretch.

Comeback

Last night's win was the Mallards' second come-from-behind victory of the season. The Mallards battled back from 1-0 and 2-1 second period deficits.

On the Road

Tonight the Mallards play the first of four straight away games and kick off a stretch that will see them play seven of their next eight on the road.

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards last night bounced back from their first consecutive home losses of the season after falling to the Wheeling Nailers 3-2 at the iWireless Center last Saturday and again Sunday. Last night's victory also pushed the Mallards over .500 (4-3-1) on home ice.

Above Water

The Mallards are three games over .500 despite having been outscored 42-41.

Shooting Gallery

The Mallards last night took 45 shots, two shy of the team single game season high for shots set on October 21 in a 3-2 win over the Rush in Rapid City. The Mallards rank fourteenth in the ECHL in shots against (31.4 per game) and seventeenth in shots taken (30.7).

The Komets swept a season-opening home-and-home series with the Mallards before defeating the Flock 5-1 last Friday. Last Friday's defeat left the Mallards with an 0-2-0 record at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum this season. All-time, the Mallards have gone 50-52-11 against the Komets.
