Copa de la Diversión - Los Corazones de Reno

The milagro heart at the center symbolizes love, while "milagro" means "miracle" and can bring good luck to its wearer. By taking the field as Los Corazones de Reno, the club is pairing its love for the community with the passion of baseball within Latino culture. The chili peppers represent this connection, as well as the one between food, family, & and baseball. We invite all of Northern Nevada to join us for 4 special Copa de la Diversion nights at Greater Nevada Field! | Presented By Roberto's Taco Shop, KOLO 8 News Now & Juan 101.7

Notes:

Cron's back: The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated Wilmer Flores from the 10-day IL earlier today. Kevin Cron was optioned back to the Aces as the corresponding move. Cron has only played 55 games this season for Reno but still leads the PCL with 29 homers. He is four homers away from setting the new Aces single-season home run record. He has five home runs this season with the D-backs over 27 games and 58 at-bats. He hit a monster shot last night against Texas which measured at 453 feet and 111 MPH off the bat according to StatCast.

HR Record on the Horizon: Yasmany Tomas belted his 28th dinger of the season last night against El Paso. He was a triple away from the cycle and drove in four runs in the process. It was Tomas' eighth home run of the season against the Chihuahuas, his most versus any one team this season. The slugger from Cuba is one shy of the Pacific Coast League leader, Kevin Cron (29). He is five big flies away from breaking Christian Walker's single-season Aces home run record of 32 set in 2017. Tomas now has 43 career home runs in an Aces uniform, he is 13 home runs away from passing Peter O'Brien and Mike Jacobs for the all-time franchise record for longballs (55).

Corazones Power: The Aces are 1-1 this season at home when playing as Los Corazones de Reno. They lost their first game on May 11 against the Salt Lake Bees (Abejas de Salt Lake) 8-7. Los Corazones fell behind 8-1 by the fifth inning during the game. They mounted a comeback scoring three in the sixth and three in the eighth to cut the deficit to one, but the rally fell short. Yasmany Tomas, Abraham Almonte, Wyatt Mathisen, and Travis Snider all homered in the game. Ildemaro Vargas was 3-for-3 with a double and triple in the contest. Los Corazones won their first game on June 20 against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Mariachis de Nuevo México) 6-4. Reno trailed 4-2 in the eighth inning. That's when the squad put up four runs to take the lead. The big blow came off the bat of Andy Young who recorded his first career Triple-A hit, a bases-clearing triple in the inning. Jimmie Sherfy picked up his 11th save of the year to close the game in the ninth.
