Notes & Information
Cycle Watch: Yasmany Tomas got tonight's contest started very quickly. His first at-bat resulted in an RBI single to score Carlos Asuaje. His second AB was a towering homer over the center-field wall, his 28th of the year. Tomas doubled in the bottom of the fourth to score Riley Smith and Asuaje again. The last time an Aces player hit for the cycle was Matt Szczur on May 20 this year. In that game, Tomas hit four home runs on just four pitches. Tomas struck out in his fourth at-bat and grounded out in his final AB of the evening.
Cron Show: Despite only appearing in 55 games with the Reno Aces this season, power-hitting first baseman Kevin Cron remains the top home run hitter in the Pacific Coast League. Cron has played 27 games with the Diamondbacks this season and hasn't found success with his batting average but did pack the long ball. In today's 19-4 Diamondbacks victory over the Texas Rangers Cron connected on his 5th Major League home run. Today's blast was a 453-foot shot with an exit velocity of 111.41 MPH. He hit it on an Adrian Sampson 92 MPH sinker.
