Reno Aces News Release
RENO, Nevada - The Boys of Summer are back at Greater Nevada Field for a weekend full of baseball.
The Reno Aces will cap off a four-game set against the El Paso Chihuahuas on Thursday, July 18, then welcome the Fresno Grizzlies to the Biggest Little City on Friday, July 19, for a three-game slate.
To kick off the festivities, the Aces will take the field as "Los Corazones de Reno" tonight, Thursday, July 18, in celebration of Copa de la Diversión, otherwise known as the "Fun Cup": a season-long MiLB initiative to honor Latino communities. Roberto's Taco Shop is the presenting sponsor of Reno's Copa de la Diversión games this season, along with KOLO 8 News Now and Juan 101.7. FM.
Gates open at 6:05 p.m. PT as Los Corazones de Reno will take on the "El Paso Margaritas" with first pitch lined up for 7:05 p.m. PT. Greater Nevada Field will transform into a fiesta with DJ R.Boogie of Wild 102.9 FM spinning hit music in the Jose Cuervo Tent along with prize giveaways prior to the game. Food specials and a Mariachi band will also be in attendance to liven the night.
The following day, Friday, July 19, is Saint Mary's Fireworks Friday presented by Saint Mary's and KRNV News 4. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. PT with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m PT. Stay after the game to see the best fireworks show in town. Kids are welcome to run the bases immediately following the spectacle presented by My Kid's Smile & KTVN 2 News.
During the game, the Aces will hold their fourth Saint Mary's "Home Run for Life" celebration of the season. Once a month, a brave individual in the Northern Nevada community is honored by taking a ceremonial trip around the bases with each team lining the baselines.
Friday is also Faith & Family Night. Bring members from your place of worship out to Greater Nevada Field and enjoy a pregame concert as well as a Q & A with a Reno Aces player about their faith on and off the field! Contact Henry Fassinger for tickets and more information at hfassinger@reno1868fc.com or 775-334-7022.
Saturday, July 20, is 90's night at Greater Nevada Field presented by Renown Health, Hometown Health, and Reno News & Review! Dust off your Zubazz, crack open a Surge, and get ready to time travel to the days of dial-up. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive an Aces themed 90's Fanny Pack presented by Renown Health & Hometown Health. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. with first pitch coming at 7:05 p.m PT.
Prior to the game, there will be a pregame concert performed by Audio Breeze playing 90's hits starting at 5:05 p.m. upstairs at GNF. Within the game, there will a jersey auction, a classic 90's game station where you can challenge Aces General Manager Emily Jaenson to a Skip-It battle, character appearances, and food specials including the Nirvana Burger, Titanic Dog, Double-Dare Fries, and Half-Baked Sundaes. For more information visit https://www.milb.com/reno/tickets/90s-night.
Also, join the Aces during the game in standing up to cancer for Cancer Survivorship Night. Show your support to a loved one by writing a message on individual posters provided in the concourse and displaying it during a special in-game tribute.
Lastly, July 21 is not only Family Sunday presented by 106.9 MoreFM featuring $1 hot dogs, soda, and popcorn throughout the game, but it is also the Aces annual Artown event! Artists will be completing masterpieces on the concourse of the scenery around Greater Nevada Field to be bid on during the game with proceeds benefitting the foundation. Gates open at 12:05 p.m. with first pitch on tap for 1:05 p.m. Kids are encouraged to run the bases after the contest presented by presented by My Kid's Smile & KTVN 2 News.
