Cyclones Complete Three Deals on Deadline Day
March 16, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Cincinnati, OH-Cyclones coach and General Manager Chris Cichocki announced today that the Cyclones have made three deals prior to the ECHL trade deadline at 3 p.m. today. The Cyclones have traded defenseman Ryan Brindley to the Florida Everblades in exchange for forward Gray Shaneberger, cash considerations and future considerations. The team sent Garrett Prosofsky's ECHL rights to the Alaska Aces in exchange for future considerations. The team also traded Andrew Proskurnicki to Mississippi in exchange for future considerations.
Shaneberger is an ECHL rookie after playing four years at the University of Maine. He has 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 58 ECHL games this year. Shaneberger played 111 games while at Maine. He accumulated 19 goals and 17 assists for 36 points during his collegiate career.
Brindley joins the Everblades after playing 57 games with the Cyclones this season. He accumulated 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points this season with Cincinnati. He requested a trade after the Cyclones were eliminated from the ECHL playoffs.
Prosofsky was recalled to the American League's Springfield Falcons yesterday. He played 53 games this year for the Cyclones recording 22 goals and 28 assists for 50 points. Prosofsky also asked to be traded when the Cyclones were knocked out of the ECHL post season.
"Garrett and Ryan expressed their desire to join a playoff team. They had no interest in finishing the season as Cyclones," said Cincinnati coach Chris Cichocki.
Proskurnicki played 17 games with the Cyclones after being acquired from the Idaho Steelheads on February 5th. Proskurnicki had one goal and five assists for six points during his tenure with the Cyclones.
The Cyclones play in Dayton on Wednesday. The sportsjuice.com pre-game show begins at 6:50 p.m. eastern time before the opening face-off at 7:00 p.m.
The Cyclones return home on Friday for a showdown with the Toledo Storm. Game time is 7:30 p.m. WWE Superstar Batista will be in attendance, and U.S. Bank Arena will be hosting the wedding of two Cyclones fans.
