Falcons Assigned Rookie Goaltender
March 16, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. â The American Hockey League's Manchester (N.H.) Monarchs assigned rookie goaltender Terry Denike to the Fresno Falcons today.
Denike, a fifth round draft choice of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, has played a handful of games with both the ECHL's Reading Royals and Central Hockey League's Wichita Thunder this season after completing his college career at Lake Superior State University in 2002-03. Despite getting assigned to the Falcons by the Monarchs, Denike did not see any playing time while in Manchester.
"Terry has been the odd man out in a couple of different situations this year, so Manchester decided to send him to us where he might get more of a chance to play as the season winds down," said Falcons General Manager Blaine Moore.
The Falcons next take the ice tomorrow when they face the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7 p.m. at Save Mart Center. The team will be wearing St. Patrick's Day specialty jerseys during the game courtesy of A&M/Big Bob's New & Used Carpet Stores, which the club will auction off following the contest in the Bulldog Foundation Room at Save Mart Center. All of the proceeds from the auction of the game-worn St. Patrick's Day sweaters will benefit the United Way.
Tickets to the game tomorrow can be purchased directly at Save Mart Center's Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets, which include select Save Mart Supermarkets, Tower Records, Wherehouse Music and Ritmo Latino locations, charged by phone at 485-TIXS or bought online by clicking the Ticketmaster icon throughout www.fresnofalcons.com.
