
Mike Eruzione to Receive Key to City

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that Toledo Mayor Jack Ford will be presenting Mike Eruzione a Key to the City at a private luncheon tomorrow. Toledo City Councilman Robert McCloskey will be providing a resolution honoring Eruzione's accomplishments.
Mike Eruzione, who played for the Toledo Goaldiggers from 1977 to 1979, will be receiving the honor at a private luncheon Wednesday afternoon for media and sponsors. The captain of the 1980 USA Gold Medal hockey team will also be appearing at the Toledo Sports Arena Wednesday night to meet with Toledo fans and drop the ceremonial puck prior to the Storm taking on the Reading Royals at 7:30pm.
Mayor Jack Ford, who was elected Mayor of Toledo in November 2001, has been a champion of many things throughout his public career. Jack Ford was elected Mayor after serving seven years in the Ohio House of Representatives; the last three as the Democratic Leader. Prior to his service in the House, Jack served seven years as a member of the Toledo City Council, with the last year as President. He has received over 100 awards and distinctions, including a National Leadership American Award and spoke before seven million people at the Democratic National Convention in 2000. Jack Ford has been an instructor at the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, and Owens College. He has his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, a master's degree in public administration, and a law degree from the University of Toledo.
Councilman Robert McCloskey, elected in 1993 as District 3 Councilman, is currently active on numerous City Council committees. Those committees include: Youth, Parks and Recreation, Health and Community Relations, Intergovernmental Relations, Community and Neighborhood Development, and Economic Development. The native of Toledo and graduate of Whitmer High School will be on hand to present a resolution honoring Mike Eruzione's achievements.
Mike Eruzione will be appearing at the Toledo Sports Arena to meet with the Toledo fans starting at 6pm with the Toledo Storm taking on the Reading Royals at 7:30pm. The Toledo Storm would like to thank Coca-Cola, Toledo Edison, Papa Johns, New Bright Industries, The Monroe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Superstore, and Sherwin Williams for their help in bringing Mike Eruzione back to Toledo.
