
Gladiators Dump Lynx, 4-1

Steve Slonina recorded his third consecutive multiple point game and Kris Goodjohn added his fifth game winning goal of the season as the Gladiators knocked off the Augusta Lynx 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Slonina slipped through two Augusta defensemen and into an opening in the slot where he ripped a shot past Jason Saal to give the Gladiators a 1-0 lead. Chris Durno and Joe Bourne hooked up to add the assists on the goal at 10:41 of the first period.
Kris Goodjohn, Slonina and Durno hooked up in the second period to give the Gladiators a 2-0 lead. Goodjohn deflected Steve Slonina's centering pass at 7:03 of the second to give Gwinnett the two-goal cushion.
Anthony Aquino slipped down the left wing and ripped a snap shot past Saal to extend the Gladiators lead to three goals. Jim Jackson added an assist on the goal at 2:29 of the third period.
A defensive breakdown led to Augusta's only goal of the game 74 seconds later. Terry Marchant took a centering feed from Brandon Doria and ripped a one-timer past Gladiators netminder Trevor Prior at 3:53 of the third period.
Kevin Doell added an insurance goal with 24 seconds remaining in the contest. Cam Brown threw the puck up the wing to Aquino to set up the play. Prior also added an assist on the goal.
The Gladiators out shot the Lynx 41-34 in the win while the teams were a combined 0-10 on the power play in the contest.
