Cougars Acquire Zac Funk from Calgary Hitmen

Prince George BC - General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb has announced the acquisition of forward Zac Funk (03) from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for forward Carter MacAdams (04) , a 2023 2nd round pick, a 2024 2nd round pick, and a 2024 4th round pick.

Funk, 19, was drafted by the Hitmen in the second round, 43rd overall, in the 2018 WHL Prospect's Draft. The product of Coldstream, BC owns 32 points in 33 games this season (13G-19A) and 45 penalty minutes with Calgary. The 6 foot and 200 pound forward has played 129 WHL games, while collecting 78 points in that span (39G-39A).

"Zac is the type of player we were looking for at the deadline," said GM & Head Coach Mark Lamb. "He's got experience, he can score, and plays a heavy physical game."

The Cougars would like to thank Carter MacAdams for his contributions to the team, the city of Prince George, and wish him good luck in Calgary.

The Cougars kick off their season longest seven-game road trip this evening when they visit the Kelowna Rockets at 7:00 PM. The pre-game show will kick off at 6:45 with play by play just after 7:00 PM on 94.3 The Goat.
