Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

BRANDON M.B - The Brandon Wheat Kings take down the Seattle Thunderbirds by a score of 4-2 Tuesday night.

The Wheat Kings came out not afraid of the size and talent the Seattle Thunderbirds were bringing Tuesday night. It was the Wheat Kings that opened the scoring early with the new addition Dawson Pasternak firing a shot on Thunderbirds goaltender Scott Ratzlaff who coughed up a juicy rebound to Rylen Roersma who made no mistake scoring his 9th of the season to make it 1-0 Wheat Kings.

In the second period The Thunderbirds would tie it up on a two-man advantage. Reid Schaefer would hold the puck at the left side point finding Jared Davidson who placed a one timed shot passed Carson Bjarnason to even things up. The Wheat Kings would force the puck inside the Seattle zone in the remaining 3 minutes of the second period and would be rewarded with Calder Anderson scoring his 9th of the year firing a shot on the right side of Ratzlaff to restore the Wheat Kings lead.

The Wheat Kings would hold on to their 2-1 until the final 65 seconds when Rylen Roersma scored his second of the night in the empty net to take a 3-1 lead. The Thunderbirds would score 18 seconds later with Nolan Allan firing a shot top corner to cut the lead and make things interesting. With the score 3-2 Calder Anderson would fish the puck outside the zone allowing Nate Danielson to score his 21st of the year to give the Wheat Kings the 4-2 victory.
