Wheat Kings Acquire Flamand from Rockets

Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings have acquired forward Nolan Flamand ('04) from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for forward Trae Johnson ('05), a 2023 3rd Round Pick and a 2024 Fifth Round Pick in the WHL Prospects Draft.

Johnson, 17 was drafted 35th overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects draft by the Wheat Kings. In two seasons with Brandon, Johnson has 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points in 100 games regular season games played.

Flamand, 18, was drafted 27th overall in the 2019 WHL Prospects draft by the Rockets. The Saskatoon, SK native is coming off a productive 2021-22 season where he recorded 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 60 games played with the Rockets. He currently has 16 points in 35 games played this season.

The Brandon Wheat Kings organization wishes Trae all the best with his new club. We also would like to welcome Nolan & his family to the City of Brandon and the Wheat Kings organization.

The Wheat Kings are back in action tonight when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds. Puck drop at 7pm from Westoba Place in Brandon.
