Winterhawks Acquire Draft Pick from Red Deer for Nick Andrusiak

Saskatoon, Sask. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced the acquisition of a seventh-round selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft in exchange for defenseman Nicholas Andrusiak.

Andrusiak, 18, has played the majority of the 2022-23 season with the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). He has 18 points in 75 SJHL games over the last two years.

The 2004-born defenseman played two regular season and four preseason games with the Winterhawks. Prior to being listed by Portland in 2021, Andrusiak developed with his hometown Tisdale Trojans U18 AAA program.
