Wheat Kings Acquire Manitoba Native Dawson Pasternak from Portland

Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings have acquired forward Dawson Pasternak ('03) and a Conditional 4th Round Pick from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for US Import forward Colin Frank ('06), a 2025 6th Round Pick, and a 2026 2nd Round Pick in the WHL Prospects Draft.

Pasternak who hails from Winnipeg, was drafted 85th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects draft by the Winterhawks. In two seasons, Pasternak has recorded 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points in 62 games with Portland.

Frank, 16, was drafted in the US Prospects draft back in 2021. The Ladera Ranch, California product is currently with the Anaheim Jr Ducks U16 squad in Southern California.

We also would like to welcome Dawson & his family to the City of Brandon and the Wheat Kings organization.

The Wheat Kings are back in action tonight when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds. Puck drop at 7pm from Westoba Place in Brandon.
