Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings have claimed 2002-born forward Loick Daigle off CHL waivers from the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) and have signed him to a WHL Standard Player Agreement, the team announced today.

Daigle, 20, is a veteran of 108 career games in the QMJHL where he tallied 50 points (24G, 26A), 39 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating.

The Chateauguay, QC product was originally drafted by the Victoriaville Tigres in the fifth round, 79th overall, of the 2019 QMJHL Draft.

"The organization is excited to add Loick Daigle to our roster for the rest of the 2022-23 WHL Season," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kirt Hill. "Loick is a veteran player in the CHL who plays a responsible 200-foot game.

"We will look for him to bring leadership with his experience in the QMJHL and play important minutes for our group for the rest of the year. Everyone speaks to how good of a person Loick is which makes this an exciting addition to our club."
