WORCETSER, MA - A night after giving up 14 runs and 18 hits, the Worcester Red Sox stymied the Buffalo Bisons offense for a 9-1 victory on Wednesday night at Polar Park.

Starter Connor Seabold set the tone on the mound for the WooSox, striking out seven across seven innings and only allowed three hits. The right hander did not issue a walk, and at one point retired 13 batters in a row, bookended by a Spencer Horwitz double in the first inning, and a Rafael Lantigua single in the top of the fifth.

Seabold's final two strikeouts came in the top of the seventh inning, and he finished his night throwing 90 pitches. A.J. Politi and Frank German finished the night over the final two innings out of the Worcester bullpen.

The WooSox scored three runs in the bottom of the first thanks to a Connor Wong three-run home run off of Nick Allgeyer. They added five more runs in the bottom of the season. Allgeyer was charged with seven runs in just over an inning of work in the start.

Sean Rackoski took over on the mound and allowed a run of his own that capped the five-run bottom of the second for Worcester, giving the team a 8-0 lead through two. Worcester would add another run in the bottom of the fifth to open up a 9-0 lead over the Herd.

Buffalo's lone run of the night came thanks to an Otto Lopez groundout that scored Lantigua. Lopez' hitting streak ended at 20 games thanks to an 0-4 night at the plate despite his 32nd RBI of the season.

Adrian Hernandez struck out three batters in his 1.1 innings of relief for Buffalo. The Herd pitching staff struck out eight in the loss.

With the series tied at one-game apiece, the Bisons and WooSox will meet on Thursday night for the third game of the set. The two teams are scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. first pitch at Polar Park with neither team announcing a starting pitcher thus far.
