(Kalamazoo, MI) Alden Hirschfeld scored twice with and assist as the Walleye went on to a 5-2 Friday night in Kalamazoo. Toledo has a record of 1-1-0-1 and is 1-1-0-1 on the road.

Toledo started with a flurry scoring twice in 18 seconds. Alden Hirschfeld (2nd) put the Walleye in front at 3:57 of the period with a wrist shot the beat Kalamazoo goaltender Joel Martin. Martin stopped Josh Shalla's shot moments later but Forward Tyler Sikura was there to collect his first professional goal at 4:15.

The Wings picked up a break when a shot from Tyler Shattock deflected past Jeff Lerg at 10:16. Toledo out shot Kalamazoo 14-4 in the first period. Forward Marek Tvrdon picked up his first goal of the year at 6:41 of the second period to give Toledo a 3-1 lead following two periods.

Hirschfeld collected his second goal of the game at 5:45 of the third period when he picked up a power play goal. After Kalamazoo scored to trim Toledo's lead to 4-2, Marek Tvrdon collected the empty net goal to cap the scoring.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg finished with 18 saves on the 20 shots he faced and his record is 1-0-0-1 on the season. Toledo out shot Kalamazoo 40-20 for the contest.
