Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (October 24, 2015) - Forwards Olivier Archambault and Tanner Eberle have been assigned to the Quad City Mallards by the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild, the Mallards announced today.
Archambault, 22, played in the Wild's first six games of the season after being recalled from the Mallards October 9.
As a rookie last season, Archambault split time between the ECHL's Alaska Aces and the Wild. The 6' 0", 190-pound, Le Gardeur, Quebec, native averaged a point per game in 38 outings for Alaska, scoring twenty goals and picking up 18 assists while posting a plus/minus rating of +7. Archambault scored four times and added five assists in 24 AHL games.
Archambault was selected by the Montreal Canadians in the fourth round of the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft with the one hundred eighth overall pick. He got his first taste of professional hockey when he notched a goal and an assist in ten games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs late in the 2012-13 season.
Archambault returned to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2013-14 to score 19 goals and collect 27 assists for 46 points in 38 games with the Quebec Ramparts. Archambault totaled 100 goals, 131 assists and 231 points in 270 career QMJHL games over five seasons with the Ramparts, Drummondville Voltigeurs and Val d'Or Foreurs.
Eberle, 21, has played three games for Iowa this season after signing with the Wild on October 9. The 5' 11", 185-pound Regina, Saskatchewan, broke into the professional ranks last spring with the Allen Americans, for whom he provided two goals and two assists in five games before moving up to the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for a half dozen games.
Prior to turning pro, Eberle skated for the Western Hockey League's Moose Jaw Warriors for four full seasons and part of a fifth campaign. Last season Eberle had 33 goals, 23 assists and 56 points- along with 99 penalty minutes- in 63 games with Moose Jaw. He recorded 80 goals and 91 assists for 171 points in 270 career WHL games.
