Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, AK - Joe Perry scored twice and Tomasso Traversa had a goal and an assist in a three-goal second period as the Alaska Aces skated off with a 4-1 win over the Idaho Steelheads Friday night at the Sullivan Arena.
Idaho took a 1-0 lead at 15:26 of the first period as Brandon Magee snapped a wrister top shelf after coming around below the goal line.
Things turned around dramatically offensively for the Aces in the second period. Perry scored his first goal of the season on a tip of a Traversa shot at 6:53. Then Traversa turned a weak clear by Idaho Philippe Desrosiers into a five-hole goal at 13:27. Perry completed the second period scoring by finding the back of the net once again at 18:20.
Alaska outshot Idaho 25-3 in the second period.
Justin Breton finished the night off with a third period empty-net goal with seven seconds to go.
Alaska goaltender Troy Redmann was solid, making 23 saves for the win. Desrosiers ended up with 39 saves for the Steelheads.
The two teams will complete their three game series Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.
