
Jackals Travel to Reading for First Road Game of the Season

ELMIRA, NY - October 24, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, hit the road for the first time this season as they head down to Santander Arena in Reading, PA to face-off against the Royals for the second consecutive night.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
Tonight the Jackals hit the road for the first time this season as they travel down to Santander Arena in Reading, PA to take on the Royals in consecutive nights. Last night, Elmira hosted Reading in the third annual Pink in the Rink game but fell 5-1 to the visitors. Jacob MacDonald scored the lone goal of the game for the Jackals. Tonight's matchup marks the second of 12 meetings this season and the first of six at Santander Arena. Throughout the rivalry these two teams have battled back and forth with the Jackals holding a 50-51-12 record all-time against Reading. Last year, the Royals took home the first annual DeMet's Candy Challenge Cup by winning the season series.
FAST FACTS
? Defenseman Jacob MacDonald scored his first goal of the season last night against Reading. The Cornell University product had three points (1G, 2A) in eight games with the Jackals last season following the conclusion of his collegiate career.
? Leading scorer Allan McPherson recorded three points on Saturday night, which was his sixth multi-point game in 26 career games with Elmira.
? Rookie defensemen Spiro Goulakos and Josh Chapman made their Jackals debuts last night. Goulakos, 25, was a two-time captain at Colgate University and Chapman, 20, recorded 321 penalty minutes in 180 OHL games for the Sarnia Sting.
