Mallards Blanked in Home Opener

MOLINE, Ill. (October 23, 2015) - Kevin Carr made 18 saves and Brandon Wong scored the only goal as the Tulsa Oilers spoiled the Quad City Mallards' home opener by blanking the Mallards 1-0 Friday evening.

The Oilers were on the power play when Wong swept the puck home from the slot at 6:38 of the second period. At the other end, the Oilers limited the Mallards to just five shots on goal in each of the final two periods.

Also Friday, forward Pearce Eviston left the Mallards for personal reasons and was placed on the team's suspended list.

The Mallards host the Oilers again tomorrow evening at 7:05 p.m. Tomorrow evening is Harris Pizza Anti-Bullying Night. Area elementary school students who sign the SCORE anti-bullying pledge will tomorrow night will receive free tickets to the game. Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including tomorrow night's tilt- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $10, $16, $20 and $28.
