Allen Americans News Release
Salt Lake City, Utah - The Allen Americans (3-2-0) and Utah Grizzlies (2-1-0) tangle tonight in the second of a back to back at the Maverik Center. The puck drops at 8:05 pm, North Texas time.
Back to Even - The Americans have won back to back games for the first time all season, and are now over .500 for the first time this year. Allen is now 2-1 on their four-game road trip, with the only loss coming last Sunday afternoon in Tulsa.
From the Captain - "Our chemistry is getting better each game," said Americans Captain Chad Costello, who had an assist in Allen's 4-2 win last night. "We have three lines that can score, so it really puts pressure on the opponent because you never know which line will be doing the damage."
Red Hot - Greger Hanson has scored goals in back to back games for the Americans and is now tied with Gary Steffes for the team lead with two. He is also tied with Tristan King and Gary Steffes for the team lead in points, with four each.
Brick Wall - Joel Rumpel has started every game for the Americans this season and again was the best player on the ice last night for Allen. He stopped 26 of 28 shots and continues to have impressive numbers with a 1.81 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.
On the Shelf - David Makowski missed last night's game with an upper body injury and will be out again tonight. Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson is hoping to have him back for next Saturday's game at home against the Missouri Mavericks.
Red Debut - Chase Grant made his Allen debut last night, wearing jersey number #32. The Oklahoma City native played his college hockey at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
Looking at the Enemy- Grizzlies forward Barry Almeida has six goals in three games this season and leads the ECHL in that category. Almeida scored one of the two Grizzlies goals last night and is second overall in the league with six points.
Returning Home - The Allen Americans return home on Halloween night, October 31st, against the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 pm. We'll have candy on the concourse at 6:00 pm along with a costume contest. for both kids and adults.
