- Since returning from an ankle injury Jim Abbott has embarked on a five game point streak (2-6). He scored two goals and added three assists this past weekend. Jim's point streak ties him with Rick Judson (12/12 to 12/27) for the longest streak of the year. Rick had five points (3-2) during that stretch.
- Saturday night Bryce Charpentier collected his first multiple point game of the season (2 assists). Bryce has 2 assists and 67 penalty minutes in 8 games since arriving in Toledo.
- Alexandre Jacques has 24 goals and 23 assists on the season. His 47 points and 24 goals are tops for Toledo in both categories. Morten Ask has 25 assists, which is the most for Toledo this season.
- Defenseman Tom Nemeth scored his first goal in a Toledo uniform on Sunday. Currently, Tom has 1 goal, 8 assists and has played at a team leading +12 since joining the Storm.
- Nemeth's goal Sunday was a game-winner in the 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones. That was the first win this season for the Storm on Sunday. They are now 1-8-2 on Sundays.
- Toledo collected 30 plus shots in all three games this weekend. The Storm has gone sixteen straight games with more than 30 shots.
- The Storm has a record of 18-6-2 when scoring 3 or more goals in a game this season.
- Toledo has 30 power play goals in 240 attempts (12.5%). Toledo is ranked 28th in the ECHL on the power play. The Storm has a record of 11-6-4 when scoring a power play goal.
- Toledo's penalty kill unit is ranked 12th in the ECHL, killing off 206 of 246 chances against (83.7%).
- Toledo is 11-13-3 at home this season and 10-12-3 on the road.
Storm Watch
- Wednesday night NASCAR legend Bobby Allison will make a special guest appearance at the Sports Arena, before the game against archrival Peoria. Toledo is 2-3-1 against the Rivermen and the last game featured a combined total of 211 penalty minutes.
- Friday night begins a two game home at home against the Chiefs of Johnstown. Toledo is 3-2-1 this year against the Chiefs; 1-1-1 at the Sports Arena and 2-1-0 at Johnstown.
- On Sunday, Karen Newman will be in town to sing the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems prior to the game against the Wheeling Nailers. Toledo is 2-5-1 against the Nailers this season with this being the last match up.
- The Toledo Storm coaches show is this Tuesday night at 8pm in the Downtown Frickers.
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Jim Abbott (2 goals - 3 assists = 5 points)
Jim continued to be red hot this past week collecting 2 goals and 3 assists. Friday, Abbott scored Toledo's lone goal, a shorthanded tally. Sunday, Abbott scored in the second period and also assisted on the Morten Ask power play goal in the first.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Doug Teskey (1-0-0, 3.00 gaa, 0.916 save%)
Doug returned Sunday from a brief 2 game stay with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. He made several key saves to help secure Toledo's first Sunday win over the Cincinnati Cyclones.
