
\'Catters finish the week 1-1-1 against top two teams in Central Division

Beaumont, TX (February 23, 2004) â The Texas Wildcatters picked up three out of a possible six points this weekend against the top two teams in the Central Division. On Friday, the Wildcatters traveled to Biloxi for game nine of the Nextel Cup series against the Sea Wolves. Ryan Fultz and Martin Masa each scored two goals and John Snowden, Cory Morgan, and Ashlee Langdone each added one in the 7-6 come from behind victory over Mississippi. Netminder Davis Parley earned his 14th win of the season with 49 saves.
On Saturday, Langdone picked up a pair of goals as the Sea Wolves bounced back with a 5-4 shootout win over the Wildcatters. Fultz and Masa also added goals to extend all three players' goal scoring streaks. Mark Scally turned away a career-high 59 shots in the tough loss.
On Sunday, the Wildcatters welcomed back the Louisiana IceGators for the seventh time this season at Ford Arena. The IceGators skated away with a 3-1 win over the Wildcatters in their final trip to Beaumont this season. Brian Passmore picked up the only goal of the game for Texas as he took a pass from Ryan Fultz to record his 14th goal of the season. Langdone was credited with the second assist to extend his point streak to five games. Parley suffered the loss as he stopped 39 of the 42 shots he faced.
Player of the Week Nomination: Ashlee Langdone ended the week with four points (3g-1a) and extended his point streak to five games, in which he has tallied nine points (6g-3a).
Goalie of the Week Nomination: Mark Scally turned away a career-high 59 of the 63 shots he faced in the shootout loss against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The Penn State alumnus had an impressive .937 save percentage for the game.
Quick Contributor: Newly acquired Chris Taliercio picked up three assists in his first three games with the Wildcatters. He recorded two assists in Friday night's win over Mississippi and one assist in the shootout loss the following night.
Scally Scales to the AHL: Wildcatters netminder Mark Scally was called up to Grand Rapids of the AHL for two games last week. He returned home to the Texas lineup to Saturday night to record a career-high 59 saves against Mississippi.
âCatters on the Prowl:
- Right Wing Ashlee Langdone picked up an assist Sunday night to extend his point streak to five games. In the five games, Langdone has recorded nine points (6g-3a). In his past ten games, he is +3 with 14 points (6g-8a).
- Forward Ryan Fultz is currently on a three-game point streak in which he has recorded four points (3g-1a).
- Left Wing Martin Masa is +6 with 12 points (9g-3a) in his last ten games.

It's Never Too Late For Mardi Gras: The Texas Wildcatters will wear commemorative Mardi Gras jerseys on February 28 when they face-off against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. Shortly following the conclusion of the game, the jerseys will be sold as part of a live, on-ice auction. As a portion of the proceeds will benefit Girls Haven, this is a great way for Wildcatters fans to acquire a game-worn jersey and benefit a local charity at the same time.
