Friday, February 20

Cincinnati 0 @ Wheeling 6

The Nailers began a four game in five day span with a 6-0 home win against Cincinnati. Jason Jaffray gave the Nailers a 1-0 lead at 1:02 of the first period with a goal assisted by Peter Cermak and Alex Rouleau. Brendon Hodge scored a power play goal at 4:08 to give Wheeling a 2-0 lead. Eddie Pershin added a shorthanded goal at 15:42 of the opening period for a 3-0 Wheeling lead. Alex Rouleau ended the first period scoring at 16:13 with a four-on-four goal to give the Nailers a 4-0 lead. Jaffray scored his second goal of the game at 11:22 of the second period to extend the Nailers lead to 5-0. Cermak scored the final goal of the game at 15:35 of the final period for the Nailere 6-0 lead. Tyler MacKay made 20 saves for his tenth win and second shutout of the season.

Saturday, February 21

Wheeling 2 @ Cincinnati 1

The Nailets began a three game road trip in Cincinnati with a 2-1 win. Stev Crampton gave the Nailers a 1-0 lead at 10:08 of the first period. Brad Mehalko and Jake Ortmeyer assisted on the goal. The Cyclone tied the game 1-1 at 10:19 of the second period with an unassisted, shorthanded goal while the Nailers had a two-man advantage. Tom Rouleau scored the eventual game-winning goal, his first goal as a Nailer, at 14:43 of the second period. Tyler MacKay made 25 saves on 26 shots for his second win in as many nights against the Cyclones.

Sunday, February 22

Wheeling 3 @ Peoria 2

The Nailers concluded the week with a road game against the Peoria Rivermen. Peoria took a 1-0 lead in the game at 1:14 of the second period on a Tyler Rennette power pkay goal. Mark Kosick tied the game 1-1 at 3:39 of the third period with Mario Larocque assisting. The Nailers took a 2-1 lead at 4:33 on Brendon Hodge goal from Tom Rouleau and Eric Erb. The Nailers extended their lead to 3-1 at 5:52 on a Jason Jaffray power play goal from Eddie Pershin and Brendon Hodge. The Rivermen got back to within one goal at 3-2 on a Trevor Baker goal at 18:34. Joe Exter recorded his second win in his second start by making 34 saves on 36 shots.

Wheeling @ Peoria 8:05p.m.

The Nailers conclude a three game road trip with their final game against the Peoria Rivermen during the regular season.

Friday, February 27

Cincinnati @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.

The Nailers host the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first of two home games for the weekend. The final John Sisson Motors Car Giveaway will take place during the game with on efan given the chance to win a car.

Saturday, February 28

Cincinnati @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.

The Nailers conclude their home schedule in February against the Cyclones. The first 3,000 fans will receive a WesBanco Buck Bobblehead Doll courtesy of WesBanco.

Sunday, February 29

Wheeling @ Toledo 3:00p.m.

The Nailers play their first game in franchise history on this date to conclude a three game in three day weekend.

Nailers Player of the Week:

The Nailers Player of the Week is Jason Jaffray. Jaffray had three goals and two assists in three games played. He had two goals, including the game-winning goal, and two assists in a 6-0 win on Friday. He had a power play, game-winning goal in a 3-2 win on Sunday.

Nailers Goaltender of the Week:

The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Tyler MacKay. MacKay went 2-0-0 in two games last week. He made 20 saves in a 6-0 win on Friday for his second shutout of the season. On Saturday he made 25 saves on 26 shots in a 2-1 win on the road.. MacKay's goals against average for the week was 0.50 with a save percentage of .978.

Record for week: 3-0-0, 6 points

Record for season: 38-13-2, 78 pts. (1st in Northern Division, Eastern Conference, ECHL)

Player notes:

J.F. Dufour is tied for seventh in the ECHL in scoring with 61 points on 20 goals and 41 assists...Jason Jaffray is eighth in scoring with 50 points on 26 goals and 33 assists...Jake Ortmeyer is tied for the league lead in +/- with a rating of +30... Brendon Hodge is tied for 13th in the league in rookie scoring with 38 points on 20 goals and 18 assists.

Team notes:

The Nailers are second in the league in goals for per game with 3.74 and ninth in goals against per game with 2.70...The Nailers are sixth in shots on goal for per game at 34.40 and second in shots on goal against at 27.42...The Nailers are 28-1-0 when scoring the first goal of a game, 20-0-0 when leading after the first period, 27-0-1 when leading after the second period and 17-0-2 in one goal games.
