THE WEEK AHEAD
Tuesday, February 24th @ Greensboro Generals 7:00pm Greensboro Coliseum Complex
The Inferno is 3-2-0 against the Generals this season and 4-5-3 all-time. This is the sixth game against the Inferno and Generals. Greensboro is in third place in the Southern Division with 65 points (32-21-1).

Friday, February 27th @ Florence Pride 7:30pm Florence Civic Center
This is the seventh game this season for these two teams. Florence is in seventh place in the Southern Division with 48 points (21-27-6). The last time the Inferno played the Pride, Columbia won in a shootout 5-4.

Saturday, February 28th vs. Florence Pride 2:00pm Carolina Coliseum
This is the last game and second this week between the Pride and Inferno this season. The Inferno is 5-1-0 against the Pride this season and 15-5-3 all-time. Start time is 2:00 PM.

LAST WEEK
Friday, February 20th Inferno 4 PENSACOLA 5 (SHOOTOUT)
Despite Columbia outshooting the Ice Pilots 45-15, they drop to the Pensacola Ice Pilots in a shootout 5-4. Columbia opened the scoring at 10:04 of the first period with a power play goal by Matt Ulwelling as he flipped the puck in behind goaltender Brian Eklund with passes from Barrie Moore and Robin Carruthers. Jesse Schultz scored his 19th goal of the season at 17:25 on a 5-on-3 power play as he hit a top shelf shot over the right shoulder of Eklund. Corey Hessler and Tim Smith assisted. Pensacola came out strong in the second period, scoring two goals to tie the game. Andreas Holmqvist and Corey Neilson scored for the Ice Pilots each on the power play. Smith scored his 23rd goal of the season at 18:55 on the power play with help from Alex Burrows and Chris St. Croix to give the Inferno a 3-2 lead ending the second period. Wes Mason tied the game for the Ice Pilots at 12:37 of the third period. Moore tipped in the puck for his 20th goal of the season from St. Croix and Sean Owens on the power play to give the Inferno a 4-3 lead. Pensacola battled back as Neilson scored his second goal of the night at 18:37 to tie the game and force overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, the Columbia Inferno lost in a shootout 5-4. Columbia was 4-of-8 on the power play.

Saturday, February 21st Inferno 2 AUGUSTA 5
The Augusta Lynx scored five straight goals as they beat the Inferno 5-2. Columbia's Alex Burrows scored first for the Inferno at 6:13 on the power play with a pass from Jesse Schultz. At 7:58, Schultz scored his 20th goal of the season with set up by Terry Harrison and Chris St. Croix. That would be the last time the Inferno put points on the board. Louis Goulet started the scoring for the Lynx at 13:43. Augusta scored three goals in the second period by Jonathan Gagnon, Brad Fraser and Terry Marchant. The Lynx would add their last goal at 1:26 of the third period by Scott Kelman. The Inferno was outshot 33-21 and went 2 for 3 on the power play.

Sunday, February 22nd INFERNO 5 Florida 3
Terry Harrison scored two goals to lift the Inferno past the Florida Everblades 5-3. Derek Eastman opened the scoring for the Inferno at 7:21 as he tipped the puck in off of a Matt Ulwelling shot. Mike Hanson had the second assist. The only scoring in the second period was by Florida's Paul Esdale and Tom Buckley at 4:51 and 19:13, respectively. As the game became a little more physical, Harrison scored his first goal of the night at 3:57 with a pass from Dennis Vial to tie the game at two a piece. John McNabb answered right back at 4:13 to pull Florida ahead by one. Columbia scored the next three unanswered goals in the third period. Tim Smith scored on the power play at 11:54 with a slapshot from the middle to tie the game at three. Eastman and Jesse Schultz had the assists. Alex Burrows scored his 24th of the season on a tip in from Sean Owens and Smith at 13:59 for the game-winning goal. Harrison added the insurance goal at 14:16, his second of the night, from Ulwelling and Hanson.
