February 23, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Another valiant Cyclones effort came up one goal short on Sunday in Toledo. The Storm beat Cincinnati 4-3 at the Toledo Sports Arena. The loss marks the first time the Clones have lost in Toledo this year.
The Storm jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Rick Judson and Morten Ask. Andrew Proskurnicki cut the lead in half by scoring his first goal as a Cyclones with 1:08 left in the first.
In the second, the Storm sandwiched a pair of markers around Shawn Weiman's first goal as a member of the Clones. Jim Abbott scored the period's first goal at the 5:33 mark of the period. Weiman would answer back for the Clones three minutes later when he wired a slapper past Toledo's Doug Teskey. Tom Nemeth would score off of a faceoff for the Storm to re-establish a two goal Storm lead.
Jason Norrie scored the lone goal of the third at the 5:46 mark of the period. Norrie's eighth marker of the year pulled the Clones to within one at 4-3. The Cyclones could get no closer despite pressuring the Toledo net throughout the final period.
With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 21-33-3 on the season. The Clones return to the ice on Friday in Wheeling. Game time is 7:30 p.m. with a 7:20 p.m. pre-game show on sportsjuice.com.
