
Steelheads Season Opener Just Days Away

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads took two of three games in a preseason series against the Texas Wildcatters, and have now begun trimming their training camp roster as they gear up for their inaugural season in the ECHL. The roster will be announced later this week. The season opener kicks off on Friday, October 17th against the expansion Las Vegas Wranglers, with a 7:05 pm start at the Bank of America Centre.
Tickets:
Tickets are still available for opening night at the Bank of America Centre, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com or www.idahosteelheads.com. Each adult $15 or more ticket purchased on opening night includes a coupon for $5.00 FREE gas redeemable at Jacksons.
With every ticket purchased for regular season play, the Steelheads are offering a "Steel-A-Deal," which gives fans $1.00 off any 12-pack Pepsi product purchased at Jacksons throughout the season by redeeming any game ticket stub at a participating Jacksons store.

October 17th - Season Opener at Bank of America Centre against Las Vegas Wranglers, 7:05 p.m. - Schedule Magnet Giveaway.
October 18th - Bank of America Centre against the Las Vegas Wranglers, 7:05 p.m. - Northwest Printing Calendar Poster Giveaway.
October 19th - Family Day at Bank of America Centre against the Las Vegas Wranglers, 3:05 p.m - All adult upper bowl tickets are 2-for-1 by picking up a coupon from any Treasure Valley Napa Auto Parts store.
Preseason Wrap:
Idaho began training camp in McCall, Idaho this season, and played the first of three preseason games there (Manchester Ice and Events Centre) against the Texas Wildcatters on Wednesday, October 8th where they won 6-3. They returned to Boise and hosted the Wildcatters for two additional games in their home arena, the Bank of America Centre on the 10th when Texas defeated Idaho 4-3, and on the 11th when Idaho defeated Texas 4-2.
Practices:
Idaho will practice from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. All sessions are free and open to the public.
Radio:
Join "Voice of the Steelheads," Britt Talbert on ESPN 1350 KTIK every night from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for the Bud Light Sports Talk Show. Britt will recap past games, highlight new players and team news, and interview players, coaches and others from around the league. Stay tuned on game nights as Britt and color commentator Mark Broz will bring fans live action for all 72 games, home and away. Games can also be heard via the Internet through the Steelheads website, www.idahosteelheads.com or by logging on to www.ktik.com.
Television:
Never miss a home game as CableOne Channel7 will air every game the following day at 6:00 p.m. and again at 9:00 p.m.
In the Community:
Oct. 8th - Blair Allison and Chris Gobert visited the McCall Library last week and read to children, and as well talked with them about the importance of school.
Oct. 11th - The Steelheads also hosted 150 parents and children from the local Head Start program in Boise at practice and at the game on Saturday, October 11th.
Oct. 18th - The Steelheads will host the Valley Crisis Center for Domestic Violence Prevention month.
Oct. 19th - The Steelheads will host the Salvation Army to help kick off the Red Kettle Volunteer program.
